TEC-Angel was among more than 60 exhibitors at the Alzheimer’s Show hosted at London Olympia on 8 & 9 June.
The show, the UK’s leading event for families, carers, and care professionals dealing with dementia, brought together the latest thinking, support, advice, practical tools and experts under one roof to help families, carers and professionals access the support and help they need.
The show also offered talks, practical activities and free advice clinics with nurses and leading professionals. TEC-Angel’s Business Development Manager Karen Cole delivered one such talk ‘Loosing the Button’.
This talk explored the potential problems using traditional wearable buttons to keep the vulnerable safe and independent. Instead of the button’s using monitoring and alert systems like TEC-Angel was examined as an alternative.
Nigel and Karen also had the opportunity to experience what it could be like to live with Dementia; taking part in Four Seasons Dementia Experience, a simulated training program designed to give a sense of what living with Dementia might be like by reducing the individual’s sensory perception and ability to concentrate and then asking them to carry out every day tasks.
